Back to School Family Guide

  • School Hours: 9:00 AM-3:15 PM

    Morning Drop-Off Begins: 8:45 AM

    First Days of School

    • Grades 1-4: Wednesday, September 2
    • Kindergarten: Tuesday, September 8

Families should not drop students off before 8:45 AM, as supervision is not available before that time.

Please check the Bradford school calendar and ParentSquare for the latest school events, reminders, and updates.

  • Morning Arrival

Student drop-off begins at 8:45 AM. Families arriving by car should use the two designated drop-off lanes and remain in their vehicles. Please wait until staff signal that it is safe for students to unload.

The front bus lane is reserved for large school buses, and the first row of the parking lot is reserved for school vans. Family vehicles should not enter the parking lot during arrival, with the exception of families transporting students with limited mobility in designated sub-separate programs.

    Late Arrival

If you arrive after morning drop-off has ended, please do not enter or park in the bus lane. Drive around to the back of the building and pull over along the side of the building for late arrival.

    Afternoon Dismissal

Families picking up by car should use the two designated pick-up lanes and remain in their vehicles. Students will be dismissed from the building as their vehicles arrive. Staff will supervise the pick-up lanes and assist students as they safely make their way to their vehicles.

Thank you for remaining in your vehicle, following the traffic pattern, and helping us keep arrival and dismissal safe and efficient for everyone.

Changes to Dismissal: If your child’s dismissal plan will change for the day, please notify the school no later than 2:00 PM so we have time to communicate the change to your child’s teacher. Whenever possible, please let us know in advance. This helps us ensure that every student is dismissed safely and according to the correct plan.

  • Attendance matters every day! If your child will be absent, please notify the school as soon as possible. Families may contact the main office at (978) 374-2443 to report an absence.

Students arriving after 9:00 AM are considered late and must check in through the main office. Because arrival staff may no longer be outside after regular arrival has ended, families should not use the regular drop-off lanes or bus area for late arrival. Please follow the front-office check-in procedure when arriving late.

If your child will be absent for multiple days or you have questions or concerns regarding attendance, please contact the main office so we can assist you.

  • Breakfast and lunch are available to students each school day. Current school menus and meal information are available through Haverhill Public Schools.

Students may also bring lunch from home. To help maintain a consistent and distraction-free environment for all students, please do not send or deliver restaurant or fast-food meals for students during the school day or for after-school programs.

If your child brings a snack, please follow any classroom or program-specific guidance, particularly regarding food allergies.

Families with questions about meals or dietary needs are encouraged to contact the school.

  • School supply lists for Kindergarten through Grade 4 are available on our School Supply Lists and District Calendar page.

Please label your child's personal belongings, including backpacks, lunch boxes, water bottles, and outerwear, with their name.

Teachers may share additional classroom-specific information at the beginning of the school year.

  • Bradford Elementary uses ParentSquare as our primary schoolwide communication tool for announcements, reminders, important updates, and messages to families. Families may also receive email communication from teachers, staff, and the school.

Please make sure your contact information is current and check ParentSquare regularly so you don't miss important Bradford updates.

For time-sensitive matters or same-day dismissal changes, please contact the main office at (978) 374-2443. Same-day dismissal changes should be communicated no later than 2:00 PM whenever possible.

  • The Bradford Elementary Health Office supports students’ health and wellness throughout the school day.

If your child has a medical condition, allergy, or health need that the school should be aware of, please contact our school nurse, Mrs. Perrotta.

All medications must be handled through the Health Office in accordance with Haverhill Public Schools procedures. Students should not carry or self-administer medication.

Please make sure the school has current emergency contact information for your child.

  • Not sure who to contact? Bradford Elementary’s main office is always a good place to start.
