Dear Bradford Elementary Families,
Today, September 11th, we observe Patriot Day. We take time to honor the heroism, service, and unity of our first responders, service members, and everyday heroes, carrying forward their spirit of compassion and kindness within our school community.
Below is a quick round-up of this week’s updates and upcoming announcements:
School Celebrations & Academics

• Kindergarten Success: Congratulations to our youngest Huskies on completing their very first full week of school!
• 4th Grade Leadership Assembly: We met with our oldest Huskies today to discuss high expectations, responsibility, and what it means to be school role models.
• i-Ready Diagnostics: Testing is currently underway across classrooms. Thank you for helping students arrive well-rested and ready to show what they know!

• Daily Chromebook Care (Grades 1–4): Per district policy, students must bring their charged Chromebooks to and from school every single day. Charging carts are no longer available in classrooms.
• Discovery Club: Program activities officially begin this Monday, September 14th, for students with confirmed registration.
• Visitor Safety: All visitors must present a government-issued photo ID and sign in at the main office every time they enter the building.
• Volunteer CORI Forms: Volunteering requires an active CORI on file. Stop by the main office with your photo ID if you need to complete one.
• Tobacco-Free Grounds: Smoking and vaping are strictly prohibited anywhere on school grounds, including inside parked vehicles.
• Birthday Invitations: Party invitations may only be handed out at school if every student in the classroom receives one. Staff cannot deliver invitations to individual students outside the room.

• Medication Policy: ALL medications—including basic over-the-counter creams or ointments—require both a parent consent form AND a physician’s order before they can be administered at school. Forms are located on the district website under School Health Services > Medication Policies.

• Back to School Ice Cream Social: Tuesday, September 22nd, from 5:00 PM – 6:30 PM.
• First PTO Meeting: Wednesday, September 23rd, at 4:00 PM in the school library.
• Site Council Representatives: We are looking for parent members! Training takes place Wednesday, October 21st, at 6:00 PM at Cosentino Middle School.

• Goal: Help us raise $15,000 to support learning, growth, and student events!
• Key Dates: MyBooster.com registration opens Sept 25 | In-School Kickoff Oct 9 | Big Event Day Oct 21.
