Hello Haverhill Families,
We’re reaching out to provide essential information about upcoming ALICE training and fire drills at our school. Since 2017, ALICE protocols have been a part of our emergency response approach to enhance safety for both students and staff. ALICE stands for Alert, Lockdown, Inform, Counter, and Evacuate, a proactive response program designed to keep everyone prepared during an emergency. Along with ALICE, we will continue to conduct regular fire drills to ensure everyone is familiar with procedures in the event of a fire.
For each training and drill, we’ve established designated meeting points outside the school and off school property. These locations provide a safe and planned place where students and staff can regroup and account for everyone. Having set meeting points helps reduce confusion and ensures a calm, coordinated response.
In collaboration with the Haverhill Police Department, some of this year’s designated meeting points are located within nearby neighborhoods, chosen for their accessibility and safety away from hazards like heavy traffic. We want to reassure our community that the Haverhill Police Department is closely involved, ensuring safety throughout these drills. If you see groups of students and staff in an unusual location, it’s likely part of a planned ALICE or fire drill. The designated meeting areas are always on public property and do not pose any risk to private property. For more information about ALICE, visit our website.
Thank you for your cooperation and understanding as we work to make safety our top priority. Your support helps us build a resilient, prepared community, ready to handle emergencies effectively. Together, we can ensure a safer environment for all.
Warm regards,
Haverhill Public Schools
